i love her, and that's the beginning and the end of everything. - f. scott fitzgerald
We had an absolute blast working with Shaun and Will. It's no secret that we love our clients, but every now and then we hit the jackpot with hilarious, champagne guzzling, trusting, laid-back couples. And that's exactly what happened with Shaun & Will! From laughing hysterically on our planning calls, to boozing about the city before their wedding together, laughing so hard champagne was shooting out of our noses, the hilarity was nonstop with these two!
Elegant would be an understatement when beginning to describe Shaun and Will’s intimate Charleston elopement. Chicago native, Shaun travels for work frequently and met her British husband, Will, on a business trip and says that was only the beginning of Will sweeping her off of her feet. This awesome couple was so excited to get married that they decided to skip the large wedding and have a secret, private, romantic elopement in Charleston. They even kept it a secret from their families!
The wedding ceremony was held at a charming carriage house in Downtown Charleston. Even though the weather put a damper on the courtyard ceremony we'd been planning, the wedding did not disappoint. Our team was able to quickly come up with a new plan to make Shaun and Will’s day incredible. With only a few hours to come up with a new plan and limited time to beat the rain before the sky opened up and drenched us, we were able to turn the inside of the carriage house into a unique venue not just once, but three times!
We used tons of greenery and blooms to make an exquisite garland as their backdrop and used candles to bring romance into the room, as if there wasn’t already enough! Shaun’s bouquet was filled with pink peonies, peach spray roses, beautiful blush garden roses, tangerine ranunculas, and finished off with a variety of beautiful greenery that helped brighten up such a cold, dreary day.
After their First Look, photographer extraordinaire, Rachel Craig, took Shaun and Will all over downtown Charleston for portraits while we flipped the room to create a romantic ceremony space. And luckily the rain let up just long enough for them to cut their petite wedding cake in the courtyard!
Following the ceremony, Shaun and Will had an intimate and private dinner together at Cannon Green at the Chef's Table.
Enjoy!

The only "pretty" wine glasses we could find in the house were itty bitty and nobody could keep a straight face when we handed them to Shaun & Will! Especially not Shaun when Will decided to guzzle his champs like a shot...he's a true champ!
