Coastal Elegance Charleston Wedding Inspiration | Historic Rice Mill, Charleston, SC | Charleston, Atlanta, Destination Wedding Planners

Ohhhhhh the the Historic Rice Mill…so gorgeous!  I was thrilled when I was given this venue for my first Scarlet Wedding Tour.  It is a blank slate while still feeling super southern – and that is MY THING.  The venue itself has exposed brick (my fav!), old wood flooring, and tiled ceilings…not to mention the huge windows that overlook the bay filled with dreamy sunsets and gorgeous boats!

When I was thinking about the venue and what I wanted to do with it, the team was talking about going and getting oysters.  OYSTERS popped in my mind and became my inspiration.  The colors of deep blues, pearly whites, and soft grays would really soften the space and create such a romantic feel.

I wanted to use oysters but knew that going this route can sometimes become tricky in being able to keep the “over all feel” elegant and romantic without it becoming too theme-y.  My very awesome husband agreed to create a stunning oyster garland that I draped down the estate table.  The raw roughness of the shells paired with soft grays, deep navy, and feminine details really make the design feel elegant and coastal at the same time!

The stunning luxury linens (those coral ones are my all time favorite), milky glass spun plates, feminine glassware, ghost chairs, effortless florals, and watercolor paper suite all while overlooking the Ashley River really made the entire design come together in such a gorgeous seamless way!

I know what you are all thinking…and yes, those models are really in love!  Miss Charleston, Kristen and her hunky boyfriend, Taylor really were amazing to work with and they are even more gorgeous in person!  Seriously, they are going to have the prettiest babies someday!
